Kelsey Lawson, MS CCC-SLP

Kelsey Lawson is an ASHA certified speech-language pathologist with over 10 years of experience supporting children and families through evidence-based, compassionate care. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders from the University of Central Florida and her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Texas at Dallas.

Kelsey has worked extensively in both private practice and university clinical settings. For the past seven years, she has served as a clinician and graduate student supervisor at the UT Dallas Callier Center, providing therapy services and mentoring future speech-language pathologists.

She is passionate about empowering children to find their voice and has been honored with the DFW Mom-Approved award twice within her career. Her areas of specialization include early intervention, autism spectrum disorder, language delays, and speech sound disorders.

Now a proud resident of Overland Park, Kansas, and a mother of two, Kelsey is excited to support families in her community by helping children thrive through personalized, play-based speech therapy.

Evaluations

Evaluations include a combination of formal and informal assessments to gain a comprehensive understanding of your child's speech and language development. Key areas assessed may include receptive and expressive language, articulation, fluency, and overall speech intelligibility

Language Therapy

Language therapy addresses:

receptive language (understanding words and directions), expressive language (using words and sentences to communicate), and pragmatic language (using language appropriately in social situations).

Learning to Read

Speech Therapy

Speech therapy addresses:

articulation (how speech sounds are produced), fluency (smoothness of speech, including stuttering), motor speech (coordination of muscles for speaking), and overall speech intelligibility (how clearly a child is understood by others)
